They resist punctures, chemicals, UV rays and fire, which suits roofs with exhaust vents or restaurant equipment. For owners who want long-lasting protection with little upkeep, PVC is our first recommendation.
• 2. Energy efficiency on flat building roofs. White PVC reflects sunlight instead of absorbing it, which lowers the cooling load in summer and helps reduce energy bills. Single-ply membranes are also quick to install and stay flexible in the cold, and every roof we install is sloped toward its drains.
• 3. Recycling at the end of a roof’s life. Duro-Last PVC can be recycled when it is eventually replaced, through the manufacturer’s Recycle Your Roof program, so the old membrane does not have to go to landfill.

• 2. Labour and access. On commercial roofing projects, labour cost depends on the size of the crew, the hours on site and how easily materials can reach the roof. Tall buildings with limited access add time.
• 3. Membrane choice and permits. Duro-Last and Goliath PVC cost more than basic modified bitumen or EPDM, but their quality shows in a longer life and better heat reflection. On permits: the City of Burlington’s list of work that does not need a building permit only includes replacing shingles with the same material on roofs with fewer than three layers.
